Seville shopping

Find the good places to shop in Seville

Seville shopping is a treat for all visitors, with everything from clothes to souvenirs to flea markets to ceramics to food on offer.

If you want to browse the main shopping streets of the city, Sierpes and Tetuan are two avenues that run parallel to each other which are full of great clothes, shoes, souvenirs, jewelry and more. There is also an international bookstore here called Casa del Libro (8 Veláquez, Seville 41001; +34 902026410; www.casadellibro.com) where you can find guidebooks in lots of different languages.

For department store shopping, El Corte Inglés (8 Plaza del Duque de la Victoria, Seville 41002; +34 954 597 000; www.elcorteingles.es) is the top option in Seville. This giant store has every kind of product you can imagine, and it’s one of the few Seville shopping destinations which remains open during the siesta. Most other stores are closed from 2-5pm, but open again for most of the evening.

If you want to visit a shopping mall during your Seville travel, Nervión Plaza (Calle Luis de Morales; Seville 41005; +34 954 98 91 31; www.nervionplaza.com) is probably the most fully-featured mall in the city. Located just 4km from the city centre, this shopping centre features a food court with international names such as TGI Fridays, dozens of stores and a 20-screen cinema.

One great way to find an interesting gift for that special someone at home is to visit one of Seville’s open-air markets. The craft market at Plaza del Duque, for example, offers all kinds of clothes, leather goods and jewelry along with its range of beautiful handicrafts. It runs all day on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

There’s also a flea market on Sunday mornings at Charco de la Parva at which you can try your luck at finding some lost treasure! If you want to browse classic furniture and other antique objects, head to the fascinating antiques market at Calle Feria on Thursday mornings.

For fresh meats and produce, there are a number of dedicated food markets dotted around Seville. The city’s newest food market at Triana is a great option for visitors, as it’s located indoors with air conditioning. It’s open until 2pm daily except Sundays.
